McGee Middle School PTO Minutes

June 2, 2009

The meeting was called to order at 6:55 p.m.

Secretary’s Report (Debbie Wezdenko)

§         A motion was made to accept the May 12, 2009 PTO Minutes as written by Michele Pitkin and seconded by Laura Swain. There were no nays, no abstentions. The motion passed.

Treasurer’s Report (Michele Pitkin)

§         The current balance in the checking account is $14,238.80.

Principal’s Report (Brian Benigni)

§         Brian was not present at this meeting.

Vice Principal’s Report (Brenda Janik)

§         No report at this time.

Dean of Students’ Report (Kelly Maio)

§         An assembly was held for eighth grade students to remind them of expectations for their behavior.

Committee Reports

§         Eighth Grade Dance (June 19 ~ J. Stites, L. Wilhelm, R. Marquis, A. Zima) – The committee was wondering how many students to expect.  Brenda indicated that between 150 and 200 is the average.  The bags will be given to students at the end of the dance.

§         Eighth Grade Promotion (June 23 ~ D. Morelli) – Not present at this time.

§         For potential additional fundraisers, Jackie Stites suggested a scrip / gift certificate fundraiser; she is willing to chair this event.

Other Business

§         Regatta t-shirts and trophies need to be ordered.

§         It was agreed to give $5,000 to McGee to purchase science labs.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
