ILA class is beginning a Mystery unit.  We will be learning about the elements of a mystery through short stories, film, and writing assignments.  The students have already made acrostics which have shown their knowledge of terms that pertain to mystery.

MURAL PROJECT FALL 2000

Greek gods and goddesses now grace the front entrance of McGee Middle School thanks to art students from the school and from Berlin High School.  Art teacher Marianne Metcalfe , artist Tracy DiPietro and the McGee PTO sponsored the project which ended at the end of October 2000.  Twenty-six students participated in recreating a view of the Greek Parthenon. Using the school's mascot, the Spartans, as a focal point, students painted other Greeks such as Zeus and Aphrodite. Using a trompe l'oeil technique, artists made the mural look as if it was created with stone.

Many students participated in this exciting project, which will leave a lasting impression on McGee Middle School students for years to come.
