Norwalk Maritime Aquarium
Field Trip 2004

On Thursday, October 28, 2004 , the 7th graders took a field trip to the Norwalk Maritime Aquarium.

This Aquarium featured a variety of habitats stocked with more than 1,000 animals indigenous to the Sound.  Tanks portray successive levels of life in the Sound, from tidal areas filled with oysters, sea horses, and small fish to the 110,000-gallon open ocean tank with nine-foot sharks, bluefish, striped bass, rays, and other creatures found in Long Island Sound and the ocean beyond.

Some of the exhibits that the students viewed were the River Otter habitat, Touch Tank, Open Ocean Tank, Jellyfish Encounter, Loggerhead Sea Turtles, and Harbor Seal Feedings.

Last, but not least, the students experienced Forces of Nature on the six-story-wide, eight-story-high IMAX movie screen.
