According to contest rules, these students have won “Munchkins” for their morning meeting classes.

I found these bones on Pond Island, which is off the coast of Bailey Island, Maine.  The bones are whale bones, but we are not sure exactly what kind of whale they belonged to.  The bones of the whale are in the display case by Mr. Kucharski’s and Mr. Panetta’s classes.  Pictures of the bones are on the McGee website.

I would like to thank all sixth graders for participating in this contest.  Almost everyone knew the name of the bones and that they came from a large animal.  Congratulations to all of you who correctly answered the questions.
